Monea Curl Defining Milk Hair Lotion - For Temporary Curls

(Photo Loaded :) )
I have naturally super straight hair, and one of my obsession was having those cute large curls I usually see in Koreanovelas lately. With that mind set, I decided to have my hair permed. Unfortunately, it did not turn out the way I wanted it to be (My hair became dry and frizzy). And I'm wrong when I thought It's easier to groom/maintain. It damaged my hair so much! I have learned my lesson and have to wait until my normal straight and shiny hair grow back.

This is how my hair looked when I had it permed :( My hair looked so damaged

Well, great that my hair is back to normal now, and I already said goodbye to those bad hair days the curly hair gave me. But I still want those large curls, and there's no way I am having my hair permed again. I usually curl my hair once in a while now using curlers or curling iron and it turns out pretty, but the problem is, it does not last long. Actually, it will only last for some minutes and surprise!! my hair is straight again. I've been looking for products which can help me have a lasting curl, I've tried hair spray and rollers, but aside from that I do not like the smell, my hair becomes super dry. Mousses are another option, but they are a bit pricey, and the for the budget conscious person that I am, I am left with this hair lotion I saw at Watsons which is relatively cheaper than the mousses. I am talking about Monea Curl Defining Milk Hair Lotion. It cost 99 pesos. I read on the direction that it works well with permed, wavy or naturally curly hair, but I thought I should give it a try. I know this product is not intended for this use, but I did tried it at my own risk. And so far I am very satisfied with the result.

  • First, I applied it on my damp hair
  • I let it dry
  • Used my rollers/Sometimes my curling iron (Use the curling iron at your own risk. Mine turned out great but we have different hair types, and I do not use curling irons often.)
  • I pinned my hair after ironing.
  • Let it cool for around 30 minutes/you can sleep with it for better results.

I pin my hair like this after Ironing. I sleep on them sometimes and it makes the curls last all day.

Sampaloc Lake, San Pablo City Laguna (Budget Date :))

San Pablo City, Laguna is well known for its 7 beautiful Lakes. I have been to all 7 seven lakes once, and it was a tiring but exciting and enjoying experience. The most popular of these lakes is the Sampaloc Lake, I think because of its location. It lies on the center of the city proper which made it more accessible to the public. When we were in College, I and Jimbo (My dearest bf of 6 years as of the posting date :)) used to date here. Since we are both still students and did not have much to spend for dating or eating out. You will find almost all street foods there and I love them! I actually enjoy them more than fine dine. My personal fave are adidas (chicken feet), kwek-kwek (breaded quail eggs), there's hot dog, isaw (chicken/pork intestines) and many more. haha! There are also cafes and restaurants around if you can't take street foods so you won't go wrong. We still go there once in a while and I am so missing it now. :(

The last time we went there. We ate a lot. There are now boat rides which is cute :)

Mom's Old Clothes? Why not?!

I always love experimenting when it comes to fashion, and one of my favorite styles would be vintage. I also want to be unique, that's why I prefer to go to Thrift Shops and find unique pieces on there. But one day, while I was ransacking my mom's closet, I saw a very pretty, split front, vintage looking, floral dress which I'm sure hasn't been worn for over a decade now. Mama said, she bought that when I was around 2 or 3 (Early 90's). I liked it so much that I asked her to just give it to me. It was originally with sleeves and with shorts inside, but It's gone now. So what I did was buy a black skirt on one of the Ukay (Thrift Stores) in our area so I could wear it to an event I'll be attending. I wore a wedge sandals and a satchel bag with it and not bad! haha. Talk about fashion repeating itself :) So you might want to start exploring your mom's closet. You might see something you could use now and be unique. It's all about how you carry yourself and not how new or old your clothes are. :)

The skirt looked great on the dress :)

The bag was given by a friend, and he is a guy! Good taste right?
On my way to the event

Colorful Multilayered Bracelets

I don't know, but lately, I've been obsessing on cute and colorful stuff. Unlike the College days when I am too cautious when it comes to colors and I opted for blacks and grays. One of the trends that have caught my attention are the very cute and colorful multilayered bracelets I saw in some Korean online stores. (Not a fan of Kpop, but I so adore Korean Fashion. It's like they have the cutest stuff on earth! Haha!) Well, as soon as I saw them on the internet, I grabbed my supply box and got any materials I could use. I have my transparent elastic craft cord, 4 sets of beads and voila!! My very cute bracelet. I love that it's so colorful, I could wear them with any clothes or shoe color.

So cute together... :)

You can wear all or just 3 or 2 or 1, totally up to you :)

DIY Box Organizer

I have decided last night that I need to clean my shoe rack. It looked so full and unorganized. With all those shoes ang boxes, it felt so crowded. And so i decided to get rid of the boxes which occupies most of the space. And success! Now the problem is, where to put these boxes, i got 10 boxes total. I was gonna throw away 3 which are not in good shape anymore. But what will i di with the rest? The first idea was to make them my charger organizer. I wrapped them up with old gift wraps from last christmas. And here it is. I made 2 for now for my sun glasses and chargers.

Hello 2013!!!

It's a day after new year and we went back to work. Yeah, great! Back to reality... Well, time flies so fast. It felt like yesterday, when we greeted 2012, and now it's bye bye time. I'd say 2012 wasn't my favorite year. It did not beat 2011, but I had my share of good news, and a lot of challenges! I think I started to feel a bit more grown up this year. A lot of challenges, at the same time, a lot of accomplishments.

I don't want to remember the heart aches and head aches 2012 brought me, but I'll always remember the things I am thankful for about the past year. By the start of the year, I got promoted. I was able to file for the Licensure Exam (Finally!! after 3 years) and Thank goodness I passed on my first attempt! I am now a licensed teacher :). Mama and Papa celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. I and Jim celebrated our 6th year as BF/GF. We were able to buy a car (2nd hand). Our mommy piggy gave birth to 13 babies. I was able to start a blog. I bought my first android phone (From Myphone it's cheaper but works great!) I learned to cook a lot of new dishes. The list goes on but the best part is, I still have the people I love with me. People may come and go, I understand that (sometimes I have that anti-social tendencies), but there are just people I can't live without, and I thank God they are still with me.

The only reason I think why 2012 wasn't my favorite was because of some heart aches and pressure I felt throughout the year. But I learned a lot! I guess that's part of growing up. I am looking forward to a better year! Hello 2013! Please be kind to me :)...
